2003- 2023, age 20 years and one month
"Well, I'm Omri Peretz, turning 20 this September, living in Emek Hefer in Moshav Elyakhin. I have two wonderful parents, come from a good home, two older sisters, and I am the youngest child.
I love sports very much. Until high school, I played professional soccer and until junior high, I trained in judo.
A little about me, I love the sea, coming to juggle a ball or read, I really enjoy being around friends, traveling, and mainly accumulating experiences."
October 7, 2023, the morning of Simchat Torah. Thousands of Hamas terrorists infiltrate Israeli territory, innocent civilians are murdered at the 'Nova' party that took place near Re'im, kibbutzim and outposts are captured, residents are besieged in their homes. Omri completes his first command role as a squad commander in the commanders' course, they are closing the last battalion weekend of the course and are dispatched from the training base to the Gaza envelope area. A force of 101, consisting of two squads in the platoon, including Omri's squad, sets out in an armored bus as the first force to the area. They encounter terrorists at major junctions and begin to understand the magnitude of the horror. The final destination - Kibbutz Kissufim. The outpost has already been captured and the terrorists are entrenched. A long firefight ensues, during which Omri and three of his soldiers come under heavy fire and are killed.
